My Story Begins

My Premature Birth

My parents were married for 6 years and they were about to go on “the last trip” before I came. My parents went to Destin, Florida and had their doctors blessing. The day before they were to leave to come home they went out on a boat deep-sea fishing. My mom was really tired but she didn’t think much about it. That evening my parents went out and grabbed a bite to eat and then went by a Carter’s outlet where they purchased a newborn Santa Claus outfit. They went back to the hotel and later that evening mom started to have lower back pain. My parents called their OB/GYN doctor in Marietta and he advised them to go to the nearest ER. My parents went to the Destin Hospital and they did not deliver babies. They directed my parents to Fort Walton Beach medical Center where my parents got lost and ended up finding a police officer who generously escorted my parents to the hospital. After quite a bit of testing I was born 37 minutes my parents came through the front door the hospital. I was born weighing 2 lbs. and 7 ounces! I was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. 12 hours later my mom was released to join me. Wiithin the 1st 72 hours of life I had a grade ¾ brain bleed. I was on a respirator and getting tons of medication. Our “roller coaster” had just begun.

My parents learned:

1. Trust God

2. Increased prayer

3. God is sovereign  and  faithful
